Take a minute for a small rhyme, courtesy of a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee, about this truly awful problem we’re facing:
There once were some bats here among us
whose noses grew white with a fungus.
Each time they flew home
they spread the syndrome.
And the problem is now quite humongous.

Sad message, great poem!
Okay…now the question is what is the nature of the problem…and how will it affect folks?
How very true. Thanks for the poem.
I’m really glad that USFWS has established a blog to get the information out to everyone. I think all of the white nose bat experts should spend a lot more time blogging.
